Information about the service

The dedicated Endocrine and Diabetes Centre operates from the north wing at Russells Hall Hospital. The centre assists in the long-term management of patients with diabetes.

Patients can benefit from services such as: 

  • Specialist diabetes service during hospital stay

  • Retinal screening

  • Pre-conception and antenatal care

  • Adolescence care

  • Insulin pump therapy

  • Carbohydrate counting courses

  • Specialist foot clinic

  • 72 hour continuous glucose monitoring

  • Group type 2 diabetes sessions

  • GLP-1 mimetic therapy

Endocrinology

In endocrinology, the department is offering a wide range of services which includes:

  • General endocrinology

  • Pituitary

  • Growth

  • Adrenal

  • Thyroid

  • Calcium and metabolic bone disorders.

In addition, we have a endocrinology service which also includes management of:

  • Infertility

  • Endocrine disorders during pregnancy

  • Gonadal disorders
