The Dudley Pain Service provides a multi-disciplinary approach to help people referred with chronic pain problems. There are a variety of different ways of helping people to improve their quality of life, these include:

  • Physiotherapy

  • Acupuncture

  • Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve System (TENS)

  • Various tablets, drugs and injections

There is also a specific programme that is aimed at helping certain people adapt their lifestyles and approach to life to enable them to live their pain.

The service is one of the few pain services within the United Kingdom that has inpatient beds dedicated to the management of chronic pain. This means that Dudley is able to offer a much more comprehensive and extensive pain management service.

We are the only Trust in the area that offers a neuromodulation service – providing advanced methods of managing pain involving both spinal cord stimulation and Intrathecal drug delivery systems.

Who does the service treat?
