Information about the service |
The Peritoneal dialysis unit is based in the same unit and provides training and support for patients who are receiving, or who will be starting, Chronic Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD). CAPD is carried out by the patients in their own homes. |
Who does the service treat? |
The unit procides a variety of specialist services for patients with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease. |

The Renal Unit is based at Russells Hall Hospital and provides haemodialysis for patients whose kidneys have failed to function. These patients attend the unit for dialysis three times a week for up to five hours.
